ABOUT THE BAND...

Canada’s Ultraviolet ( Lance Nielsen, lead vocals/guitar, Jeff Cober, lead guitar/backing vocals, Shawn Carlisle, drums, Jay Hatt, bass) came together in 2002, for the love of music and being creative

It seemed a natural fit for all the members. Writing and recording since then the band has released the long awaited debut CD. Co-produced and mixed by Joe Shugan, the music is rock with soul, big music, channeling early U2 and Van Halen, who are the common ground of the band as well as other influences from the rock gods of the 70’s.

The album appears to have no generation boundaries and is receiving rave reviews.

The band met up with film director Michael Mercy in mid 2003. Michael was looking for songs for his upcoming film WHITE. He checked out some demos of the band and loved it. At that pointUltraviolet “Midnight Radar” became synonymous with WHITE. The band also was called upon to score the entire movie, something the band had never done before. Sessions began in January 2004, with band friend Mariusz Bielawa also contributing, and would take about 5 months to complete. Also in January Michael and the band began shooting the video for “Midnight Radar” that would accompany the movie. In the woods during freezing temperatures the band retraced the foot steps of the hapless Will Wight, the victim of the movie, for three days of shooting. The shoot ended at the Starlight Club, which had more favorable weather conditions. In September 2004 the band also started a video with Michael for the song "Simplify". Creating a stir with the neighbors in Toronto and New Hamburg for this shoot, setting up generators, amps and lights, flying in and flying out, the band had lot’s of fun! CTV showed up to "shoot the shoot", and followed up with the band at the Starlight release party in November 2004.

The band held the CD release party at The Starlight Club in November 2004. Rocking the house to a near capacity crowd the band put on its best show yet! The event was a huge success which garnered write ups in various papers as well as television news coverage.
